Longsuffering

#0780 – July 15, 2012

This teaching begins with an overview of the ministry of a prophet, and then looks specifically at the truth in James 5 regarding the prophets being examples of longsuffering. The man or woman who has longsuffering is one who will continue to do what they are directed to do despite the outward circumstances. The prophets – who often saw no response from people but anger – are certainly examples of this.

One prophet in particular – Elijah – exhibited tremendous longsuffering, and yet he did have a moment when he quit. The latter part of this teaching covers the ways in which we can deal with such moments when they come. [Tom Burke]
